At Family Promise of Porter County, we believe every family deserves a safe place to call home. Through emergency shelter, homelessness prevention, stabilization programs, and compassionate community support, we empower families to overcome housing instability and build lasting independence. Together with our volunteers, partners, and supporters, we're creating a stronger Porter County-one family at a time.

Our History
Rooted in Community
Family Promise of Porter County was founded on a simple belief: every family deserves a safe place to call home. Through the support of local volunteers, congregations, businesses, and community partners, we've built a compassionate network dedicated to helping families overcome homelessness and achieve lasting independence.
Part of a National Mission
Family Promise of Porter County is proud to be an affiliate of Family Promise, a leading national organization dedicated to preventing and ending homelessness for families with children. As one of nearly 200 Affiliates across more than 40 states, we provide comprehensive case management, homelessness prevention, emergency shelter, and housing stabilization services tailored to the unique needs of families in crisis.

While we're backed by the resources, training, and proven best practices of a national network, our focus remains right here in Porter County. Together with our community, we empower families to build lasting stability, strengthen their futures, and create new beginnings—one family at a time.
Ways We Provide
Temporary Shelter
Families in our shelter program receive temporary housing for up to 90 days. Our shelter provides families a safe place and access to daily resources while they regain their independence.
Goals & Objectives
Family Promise connects families to resources such as starting a Personal Growth Development Plan that focuses on their well-being, finances, employment, and housing. Families participate in weekly group sessions designed to strengthen mental health, build healthy coping and social skills, and promote financial literacy.
Case Management
Families in our program meet regularly with one of our Case Managers to discuss their Personal Growth Development Plans, where they are connected to local resources, and receive supportive services as they prepare to transition back into society.
Exit Program
Ongoing and continued support is available for clients who have moved into stable housing, helping them maintain independence and prevent future homelessness.

Jason Kegebein
Executive Director
Jason leads Family Promise of Porter County with a vision of strengthening families and uniting the community to end family homelessness.
By fostering meaningful partnerships and supporting innovative programs, he is committed to creating lasting change for local families.
Angela Wilson
Program Director
Angela serves as the Program Director for Family Promise of Porter County, leading programs that provide shelter, case management, and supportive services for families experiencing homelessness.
She is committed to empowering families with the tools and resources needed to achieve lasting independence.
Cody Cornelison
Marketing Specialist
As Marketing Specialist, Cody leads Family Promise of Porter County's marketing, branding, and communications initiatives.
Through creative storytelling, strategic design, and community outreach, he helps amplify the organization's mission, connect supporters with its impact, for families across Porter County.
Riley Plummer
Case/TBRA Manager
Riley serves as the TBRA/Case Manager, providing guidance and support to families as they work toward stable housing and long-term independence.
Through a commitment to compassionate care, Riley helps families overcome barriers and achieve lasting success.
Shae Gilsinger
Case Manager
Shae serves as a Case Manager, helping families identify goals, overcome barriers, and access the support they need to achieve long-term stability.
With a compassionate and family-centered approach, Shae is dedicated to empowering families every step of the way.
Carlene Burton
Office Manager
As Office Manager, Carlene helps keep the heart of Family Promise of Porter County running each day.
Through thoughtful organization, administrative support, and a passion for serving others, she ensures our team can focus on helping families build brighter futures.

Intake Coordinator
As Intake Coordinator, Doris is often the first point of contact for families seeking assistance. With empathy and care, she helps assess each family's needs, provides guidance through the intake process, and connects them with the services that best support their path forward.
